WELCOME TO COLLEGE SUCCESS NOW!
HOME PAGE

Hi!  My name is Holly Trimble, and I'm an adjunct professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology at Lone Star-North Harris Community College in Houston, TX.  I decided to build this site after observing the differences between my students who experience college success and those who don't.  Some students come into class with great study skills and study strategies already in place.  Others struggle and earn a poor or mediocre grade.  Unfortunately, about 50% of students who attempt a college degree are unsuccessful.  So, I developed this site with the hope of helping more students achieve College Success Now!

To let you know a little bit about me...  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Colorado and a Master of Science degree from Boston University.  I also earned an additional 15 hours of education credits at the doctoral level.  Along the way, I spent some time taking classes at a local community college.   I have taught at the middle school, high school, and college level for the last ten years, so I've had lots of experience in educational environments, both as a student and as a teacher.

I designed this site to function as a mini-course to help you achieve your educational goals.  In each section, I'll give you checklists to help you navigate the challenges of college from the beginning. These checklists will save you hours of unproductive study time and help you stay in control of the learning process.  I'll also suggest ways you can maximize your success in college, before you ever step a foot into your first class.  As we go along, I'll recommend some great resources that will give you an extra edge.  I promise that I won't recommend anything that I haven't personally reviewed.

Let's get started on the road to College Success Now!   If you have not already done so, you must first decide which college to attend, so we'll tackle that first.  If you're already in college, just skip the first couple of pages, and navigate to the pages that will help you the most.  You can get to all of the pages by clicking  on the appropriate title on the left hand side of your screen.

Also, I've added a Forum as I hope we can build an on-line community where students, parents, and professors can interact about their experiences with college.  Additionally, I've included a College Store where you can take a look at references to help you succeed in your college career.
